Rust stain removal

I used the vit c trick in combo with a puck and i worked great thanks to this site. Now my question is now the stain is gone whta happens to the rust is it filtered out over time or do I need to add something to bind the rust particals to get them to filter out?

The iron from the stain is now in the water. Depending on how much iron is in the water, you may need to use a sequestrant to keep it from forming stains again. If your fill water is iron free, you will eventually replace enough water to get the iron to go away.
