Sand in pool

Hello,
Does anyone have any ideas/hints/fixes for filter sand in the pool (on the bottom)? I just vacuumed a ton out this morning...what a pain.

I don't have a sand filter but from what little I know you could have a cracked lateral. Take a look at THIS thread on how to do a deep clean it will give you an idea on how to disassemble and take a look and you will end up with clean sand win/win.

Not sure... It looks like filter sand. No clue how or why it is in the pool...

Thanks...I think I found my problem. Backwashed a couple times without rinsing. According to the thread, that can cause sand to go into pool! Thanks again for the link

How does the water look?

Grab some and see if it is gritty like sand or squishy like dead algae. Has chlorine usage gone up? Do an Overnight Chlorine Loss Test to see if there is something growing in the pool.
