Filter pump keeps shutting off into sleep mode.

Our instructions state to run the filter pump for 24 hours before starting the saltwater system. The filter pump shuts off after 1 hour everytime we try.
This is our second attempt at starting up the pool. Ended up draining it earlier this week. HOw do you keep filter pump on?
