I have an AGP n use BBB methid but going on vacation for 10 days and want to know if I can use chlorine tabs in auto chlorinator while gone w/o messing up my pool chemistry?

It depends, how high is your CYA?

Trichlor pucks add chlorine, CYA and lower PH in your pool. As long as you are aware of what you are adding to your pool and manage it accordingly it is fine to use pucks while you are on vacation. Many members do. I would use bleach to raise your FC to shock level for your CYA, [FC/CYA][/FC/CYA], and float some pucks in a floater.

At the bottom of Poolmath there is a section called Effects of Adding Chemicals. Enter gallons at the top, weight of pucks to be added and select Trichlor and it will tell you how much FC and CYA will be added to your pool.
