Getting Started for this year

Hello All

I drained my gunite pool over the "winter" season here in florida, pressure washed it, etc

i refilled it with city water last weekend

here are my chems

FC 13
CC .5
PH 7.5
TA 180
CH 125
CYA 30


I am asking to get a double check of what i need to do to my water

it is totally clear, but lacks the diamond sparkle

i know i need to lower the TA and raise the CH

pool math says to lower the PH to get the TA lower , then aerate to raise the PH

to raise the CH i need to find the calcium chloride 389oz is that something you add slowly?

i did add more cya to raise it to about 50 as the pool gets full sun most days

you are correct on TA, PH and the CH.. the CH may cloud your pool for a day or 2 after adding, you can do it in smaller amounts, it may take some time to get that sparkle back, some of it is from filtering and some is from your CC and new fill..

I should be able to wait till after the holiday to add the CH? how long after adding the acid will it be usable again?

Give the acid about 15 mins to disperse throughout the water with the pump on and you'll be good.
