Metal Stain

Ok. I noticed a few very small spots on the bottom of the deep end of my pool that wouldn't come off. They are very small, probably less than penny size. I use no type of metal based algaecide etc. I couldn't figure out what had caused the problem...until I dove down to within an few inches with swim goggles and noticed a BB stuck to the bottom.

What can I do about the stains? They are too small to notice but I would still like to remove them.

Are you sure no copper containing algaecide has been used? And you don't fill from a well, right?

Try using a sock filled with some Vitamin C tablets on the stain to see if that lifts it?

I'm sure that no copper algaecide has been used, and we are on municipal water. The BB is copper though. I will try the vitamin C! Thanks!

That BB is iron. it may be cheaply copper clad but it is 99% iron I am almost positive. I'll bet with a cheap bottle of vitamin C tabs, they will either be cleared completely or minimized to a point of not bothering you. Good luck and let us know.
