I have the Intex 16x48 Ultra Frame pool with the standard 1500gph filter and the saltwater generator. I am getting algae and would like to know what filter/pump can I upgrade to? I have been reading that the sand filter will work much better for this pool. Please let me know what make and model you would recommend to prevent algae.

Welcome to TFP!!!Algae is not a filter problem. It is a chemistry problem. Specifically, you must be letting the chlorine (FC) level get too low for your stabilizer (CYA) level. If you maintain the FC above the minimum for your CYA according to the FC/CYA Chart, then you will not get algae.
How are you chlorinating?
What test kit are you using?
I agree that the larger Intex sand filters and pumps will help keep the pool cleaner, but you need to have the chemistry balanced or you will still get algae.
