Pavers vs. Concrete for vinyl IG pools

I see a lot of vinyl pool pictures that use pavers instead of concrete. However when I asked PB about it, he said that pavers could not be done because with our pool the ground around it could not be compacted without damaging the steel walls. Has anyone else encountered this? Should I look for another PB?

with an above ground pool buried it can very easily damage the side of the pool, never put dirt around until water is filled in the pool, the dirt can come back into the pool and cave in the sides if you let the water out..

You can do a retainer wall away from the pool and compact that dirt and place pavers, but not right up against the pool.. Your PB saved you major money and headaches later on

actually we have taken down the AGP and are looking at an in ground steel wall pool to replace it.
