My CC seems to be somewhere between .5 and 1. Will it come down on its own as the FC comes down?
Advice for cloudy water?

Actually, high FC drives CC down. CC is the result of FC eating organics
Ugh. We have been slamming for two weeks!! Right now the FC is 23 and we were letting it come down because we were hoping to use the darn pool for the first time tomorrow... what if I let it come down for tomorrow then resume slamming after the party?
CYA 80. Been slamming at 31. Cartridge filter. I can see the tails side of the nickel at the bottom of the pool. We started. waaay back in May, with a green pool. Then cloudy/milky water. Looks good now. I am having a hard time believing there is still algae. Brushing/vacuuming every day, changing filter 3x a day. Thursday I thought we passed the overnight test, couldn't test last night. Stopped adding bleach yesterday.

I'm guessing at this point, but it feels like your filter can't clear the dead contaminants. 31 for weeks should clear vomit chunks...
I have a 500# sand filter and I can clear mustard algae from 27k gal at 15 FC (with judicious brushing).

Good news!!! The FC stayed the same overnight!! The CC is 0!!! Party is on!!!!
Except, after two weeks of 90 degree weather...today it is rainy. Ha ha ha. Of course.
On to the next project...finding the leak.

Finding a leak is much easier with cloudy water and higher CC...
