Should I slam?

had to leave for a few days and forgot to raise my chlorine level, came home to a pool with algae climbing on the walls although the water is still clear.

I know most will say slam it but it doesn't look bad, according to the charge, I'll need to bring my FC to 20ppm for slamming? That's over 400oz of chlorine or about 3.5 gallons of chlorine I'll need to dump in there.

Also, when I slam the pool, should I brush the walls and let the filter pick it up or leave it and watch it go away before scrubbing?

Yes.......SLAM is in order if you have algae. Yes.....brush brush brush at the very least once a day. More is better.

Thanks, just finished dumping 4 gallons in the pool and brushed it, gonna go pick up some more chlorine and come home and brush some more.

If the walls even feel slick with algae you are mere hours away from a full blown algae bloom. Continue SLAMing and brushing until you pass the OCLT.
