Why is TA rising?

What causes TA to rise? Fill water is 30. My PH from fill water is approximately 8.0 to 8.5. Thanks in advance.

I get TA down to 70, but keeps rising.

TA will only rise from a chemical addition. Either from fill water or a product being used in the pool. How are you chlorinating the pool?

8.25% Clorox. approximately 121 oz every other night.

I believe you are saying my TA should stay constant, if one is not adding chemicals. I have to lower PH now as my fill water adds to my existing range of 7.5 to 7.8
Lower PH by acid.

It should stay constant under normal conditions until you add acid. Adding acid always lowers TA.

Your plaster is old/fully cured, so there is not much reason to believe that you could be leeching alkalinity from your pool surface itself. If you could post a full set of test results, that might be helpful.

Corrected your numbers. I think you are posting drops of R-0009 without multiplying by a factor of 10.

If your TA is increasing after filling, it has to be coming from your fill water. Have you retested the fill water? Let your source run for several minutes, then collect a sample.

I tested twice and the results came up TA 30 both times. I didn't let the hose run, almost immediately I filled 3 gallon bucket. Will do as you suggested.
