Individually switching multiple Pentair LED lights and Magicstream deckjets

I have 3 Pentair 5G color LED lights, and 4 Pentair Magicstream Deckjets.

They all run fine off one 300 watt intermatic transformer (120v AC to 12V DC)

I currently have them individually switched AFTER the transformer, and it works just fine. I get individual control of each light and jet from just a switch that allows me to put each on its own color pattern.
However, the Pentair instructions for both the lights and jets say to not switch it after the transformer, they should be switched before the transformer.

But now to do this i need 7 different transformers.

Why would this be? Every other 12v device in our homes are always switched and controlled AFTER the transformer (laptop, etc)

I do not have those but my 12V LED's are switched after the transformer, I would think it would be bad to switch the transformer but who knows..
