First Test w/TF-100

Hi all,

Just received my TF-100 yesterday. After holding the wife at bay for a few days from going to the pool store, I think she's on board with managing the pool the TFP way.

My first results are:
FC 34
CC 0.5
TC 34.5
CYA 80
TA 160
PH 7.8

I confess to adding a decent amount of bleach while waiting for the kit to arrive. The pool is clear and I've turned the SWG off until the FC drops.

Is there anything else I should do at this point?

For now, I'd personally wait until the FC came down to target, which is 6 for your CYA level and an SWG (Pool School - Chlorine / CYA Chart). I'm also assuming your pool is nice and sparkly and doesn't have anything growing in it.

Have you tested salt levels to make sure they're good as well?

If you added that much bleach because you started with algae and were attempting to do a SLAM then depending on how the water looks you can move on to an OCLT tonight and see if you pass then let the FC level drop. Don't bother adjusting the pH until the FC level is below 10 the readings you will get above 10 ppm FC are erroneous.

Salt levels are good.

Tested the FC and CC again last night. FC only dropped to 33 which surprised me. CC was still 0.5.

Pool is clear. I'll just sit tight and wait for the FC to drop unless there's something else I should be doing in the interim.
