SWG Winter and Cold Water

I live about 60 miles northeast of Savannah, GA. My Pentair IC20 does not generate chlorine below 59 degrees.

I am asking for guidance and recommendations as to which chemicals to use to keep the chlorine level up and any other chemistry that may go up or down during the winter.

I shut mine off for the cold season, so salt isn't an issue.

Heavy rain is going to dilute your pool, so you should attempt to keep it in spec, and use liquid chlorine to prevent algae.

Thanks for the reply. I thought your post was from 2014, boy am i not smart. When you say liquid chlorine are you speaking about something like Clorox from the supermarket?

I turn off my SWG when water drops below 70°f and start using generic 8.25% bleach from the grocery store. I dose it up to about 12ppm usually and when it drops back to 8 I test PH and dose it back to 12.
