Hi everyone,
I just want to make sure I'm on the right track.

My water is slightly cloudy and there is a little debris on the bottom. When I scrub it disintegrates so I am thinking it is algae. The powdery stuff.

I know I need to SLAM. I just got done scrubbing the whole pool.

Should I bring up my TA first?

PH: 7.3 or 7.4 (Most likely 7.3)
FC: 3
CC: 0
TA: 50
CYA: 40

Not sure why my CC is 0. There is definitely powdery green stuff in the bottom. Not a lot but it is there.

You may not need to bring it up at all. After your SLAM track your pH for a few weeks, if it jumps around, you might need to bump it up.

Algae and CC can be had independently of each other ... there is a reason there are 3 criteria to stop the SLAM process.

I would leave the TA, lower the pH a bit and SLAM away.

Thanks Jblizzle and Mr. Bruce.

Can I slam without reducing the PH?
I have bleach but I don't have any muriatic acid on hand.

I guess, I now understand why the 3 criteria for SLAM. I thought 0 CC meant no algae.
Thanks for explaining.
