pH and robots

OK -
I'm going to be characterized as a nut :jocolor: for this one, and I do ck my pH regularly, but... when I was a teen, I could tell when the pH was high in our pool by the feel of the water. If I rubbed my finger and thumb together on the surface of the water, a higher pH would feel slippery while a normal pH would feel "clean". Also, the pool plaster felt "slippery" to my feet, and I had less traction if I tried to run in the water, with high pH. It was my cue to tell my dad to add acid. Maybe this is what the dealer is suggesting?

Anyway, I have to think that a robots ability to climb depends on lots of other things besides pH.... seems like a stretch to me.
