Can it Be This Simple?

New to us Hot Springs Prodigy with Ozinator (seems to be working correctly). Seller included new Nature2 cartridge and new Tri-x replacement filters.

Using PoolMath start-up was easy. Adjusted TA, Ph, CH and added borate and CYA per recommendations. Spa is EZ to maintain using 6% Bleach. Maintaining 95-100 degrees for summer in Florida. 2 adults using 3-5x per week with showers before use.

So my questions:

1. Shock: If residual FC is maintained is there any reason to shock? If so when? Is needed is bleach "shock" or MPS better or under what conditions?
2. Nature2: Since it new and in there is there any reason not to leave it there until its EOL in 4 months? Any other adjustments of chemistry to be considered while its in there?
3. Filters: Is a once weekly fresh water jet hose cleaning sufficient. Should chemical cleaners be used and, if so, how often?
4. "Vacuum": While water has been perfectly clear with no foaming, I have noticed small particles of dirt in the bottom that probably entered on our feet as we use an outside shower before entering the spa on our pool deck. Is there an easy way to "get" these small particles?

Pull out the Nature 2 cartridge and do not use it. It will add copper and other metals to your pool which will cause it to stain if pH levels are not closely monitored. Since this is a spa, the pH will tend to rise. As long as the ozinator is working and you stay on top of your FC use you don't need any other sanitizers. Always top off the chlorine after a soak, as hot water will break down FC more quickly than cool water. Spa water should be changed about every 3 months.

If there is a pressure gauge on your spa filter then watch for a 20% rise from clean pressure to clean the cartridges. Otherwise a monthly rinse should be sufficient. You don't need to chemically clean them unless rinsing does not restore full flow.

You can get a small battery powered spa vacuum to clean up any dirt you track into the spa. You may want to place a shallow tub of water by the spa steps so you can rinse off your feet before stepping into the spa if debris is a problem.
