Is TA too high?

Hi all -

FC 6.5
CC 0.5
CYA 40
pH 7.4
CH 350
TA 120
Salt 3800

Excluding CYA and TA, per the saltwater guidelines page, my numbers look within range for everything. I'm working to get the CYA up to 60-70 -- just added some last night -- but is the TA high enough that I'd want to actively lower it using the acid/aeration method? Will it continue to go higher on its own as the pH goes up with a saltwater pool?

The TA will not raise up unless you add something to raise it.

Just keep your pH in range and the TA should slowly drop ... or if you have nothing better to do, you could work to actively lower the TA more quickly.

I'd sure try and lower that as you described to keep PH from rising too fast........which is what your SWG is gonna do naturally anyhow.

Thanks, guys. So the risk of too high of a TA level is that pH will rise more quickly at higher TA levels? Any other risks?
