I'm thinking of getting the Hayward Ecostar but have read a ton of negative reviews about the motor failing? Has this been corrected or are people still dealing with that issue?
Did Hayward fix the motor/drive issues on the Ecostar?

I think the reason most of the failures occur is because they did not install a power surge protector with the pump. This can and does happen with all VS pumps and not just the EcoStar.
