The pool is flat bottomed with a uniform in depth 4'-6". It is about 30' long x 16' width at it's broadest point. We wanted it deep enough to swim in, but shallow enough, for guest's to stand up in and hold on to a drink. We also wanted to play volley ball and didn't want a sloping bottom. However we have never been able to find a net here in Cancun.

Here are a few pictures of the installation process of the mosaic tiles. They started with the stairs:

These are the 3 colors of tiles we used:

Tile installation on the side walls. (The hombre on the right was the Maestro and the other hombre was his occasional helper,
who was a Cuban refugee. He escaped Cuba on his 7th attempt on a homemade raft! The Maestro pretty much built the entire pool by himself).

The stairs & walls before the backing paper was removed:

After removing the paper:

The railing as installed: ( it was removed and shortened later)

Opening to one of two skimmers:

The pump we used has a single speed motor. Electricity is very expensive here. Unlike most other places, the more you use the more per kilowatt hour you pay! So the trick is to stay below a certain threshold to avoid the higher rate. We have two meters, one for the Casa and another for our Casita (pool house) and therefore are able to keep below the threshold.
