Hello,

I live in Vegas and my pump and filter are in direct sunlight for a good portion of the day. Are there any long term problems that could happen having the pump/filter in the high Vegas heat most of the day? Should I try and get the pump/filter in shade if possible?

I would.

When I see the condition of some of these exposed equipment pads (rusty motors..etc) there's no way
I would not have some kind of covering for it.

I believe the service lifetime of a motor would benefit from not having the sun beat down on it while it's running, especially in your climate.

I wonder if thats one of the reasons Pentair paints their pumps beige.
