Pressure Drop While Vacuuming?

My question is - is it normal for the pressure gauge on the pump to go down while vacuuming the pool? When I am done vacuuming, the pressure goes back up to 10. I might add that everything is working fine - vacuums fine, etc., no leaks, etc. It is just that I noticed that the gauge drops down to about 5 when vacuuming.

Yes, that is normal.

A vacuum creates additional resistance on the suction side of the pump, so there is less energy left to provide pressure on the pressure side.
