Welcome to the forum. 
The best type of shock in any pool is plain old bleach. It adds nothing to your pool but chlorine and a very small amount of salt.

Just in case you weren't aware... if you maintain high enough FC for your CYA level, you won't get algae and may never have to "shock" your pool again.
Weekly "shock" treatments are a pool store gimmick.
If you have algae growing now, then what you need is a SLAM Process. It uses high chlorine levels like a "shock" but controlled and sustained long enough to do some good.
