Solar Cover

I have an auto cover that is usually closed but would a solar cover help heat the water better?

Not sure what the best method would be to heat the water- Open during the day with the auto cover closed at night?

Auto cover is probably best at night to keep the heat in assuming the auto cover blocks sun light a bubble cover during the day would certainly give you more heat. I have been playing around with the bubble cover on vs off during the time of day the sun hits the pool and as long as there is not a whole lot of wind I only see at most a 2 degree increase with the cover on. Generally I leave it on during the day M-F since I am at work but have it off during the weekend for easy access to jump in when ever the mood hits.
