I tested my TA yesterday and was 120 we have had a good bit of rain today around 1 inch. I tested today just curious as to what the rain would do and every thing has stayed the same but the TA has gone up to 170. Should I be concerned about the sudden rise in TA?

The only thing that raises TA is baking soda or test error. Be sure to wipe the dropper tip between drops and hold the bottle vertically so the drops fully form.

I'm new to the tf100 kit. its very likely I'm not doing the test correctly. Does it have to turn pink or completely red to complete the test?

It will turn more like a bright Barbie pink.

And, you know you're done when adding additional drops doesn’t make it turn any pink-er.

Add drops until the last one does not cause a color change and do not count that last drop.

Thank you all. I re tested properly and results were TA 130 not 170

I found that the taylor speed stir helps immensely with this test. I think it costs $25 and uses four AA batteries. Trying to shake the vial and adding chemicals proved too challenging for me.
