R-0870 DPD Powder Expired?

Opened up last week and just did a normal Cal-hypo shock.
Finally got some time today to run a full test.
The K-1000 kit color scale was showing >10ppm FC.
DPD test yielding 3.5ppm consistently with what looks like fine pepper particles floating in the sample tube. Granules look like a salt&pepper mix

Chemical kit has always been stored inside in a closet, bought the kit sometime last summer.

Looked at some older threads but thought I'd bump this if there is a recommendation to keep this powder out of the kit/box for long-term(winter) storage.

Well, a lot of folks just store the entire box inside the house out of the heat. It isn't unusual to have bits of sand-like FAS-DPD powder in the tube while testing. As long as it is turning pink to deep pink when you add it it should be fine.
