I put 20 ounces in a sock, sat it in the skimmer, then proceeded to squeeze the sock for 5-10 minutes until the cya was completely dissolved. I then noticed my pumps psi went up 2 PSI. Is this okay? Since it was dissolved (milky) I don't know why my pressure went up. Thoughts?

The CYA is now likely stuck in your filter. Wait and see if the pressure goes down. Backwashing will only flush all the CYA you added down the deain
I always hang the sock in front of the return jet,, hanging in a sock off the handle of a shovel. Otherwise it clogs the filter if you put it in the skimmer
