Most just say, 8 mil thin cover.. I went with the diamond cover (16 mil) and seems to be holding up fine, but it is heavy

How important is it that these things cover every inch of water surface? I can't find one that will seem to fit without getting a giant one that costs a fortune. There is an 18' by 36' rectangle on amazon for $76. My pool is an octagon shape that is 19' by 27' at it's longest lengths. So I'd have 6 inches on each side uncovered.
Cool, thanks! I want clear, but the blue one I'm looking at is so cheap. All the clear ones are more for some reason.
From engrav's comment above, I was kind of under the impression that it doesn't really matter what color it is if you use it correctly. In other words, remove it in the morning when the sun is out, and put it back on when the sun goes down.

I keep mine on all the time unless we are swimming, I went with the clear so no idea on what type blue is...
