I used a modified hose that is much thicker and way better that a regular pool hose 
it is 1.5 inch and I cut 1 foot off the end and connected it up Amazon.com: Apache 98138045 2 Scientific

I need that end to put into my skimmer. I guess i could cut the plumbing and put in a direct feed into the suction side
Do you think i can screw in an attachment in that cap in the top and use that to vacuum? Im wondering if i would get better suction and i also won't have to worry about vacuuming through my skimmer. I really dont think i get adequate suction since i made the one line a return instead of vacuum line.
