Using Lithium Hypochlorite to shock

I recently drained about 1/2 of my pool to bring down the CAL, CYA and TDS. Everything being out of whack is probably from using only Tri-chlor tabs all winter. Before the city would give me a permit to drain, I had to bring my FCL to 0.1. Water is back in and chems are balanced, I just need to re-add Chlorine. I was thinking I should shock my pool also. I only use Lithium now, and no Tri-chlor tabs.

I was on a different site it says: “Do NOT use dichlor, trichlor or lithium hypochlorite to shock”

It’s not mentioned why not to use Lithium, but this is my primary source of chlorine. Can anyone help me understand why they don't recommend using it as a shock?
