Hi All,,
Is there a prefered sequence for adjusting pool levels?
Ex CYA before FC or TA befor PH....

Since so many of the things interact and affect each other and becaus e different things might need adjusting in different pools it's hard to give any hard and fast rules but in general:
Keep chlorine in the water so it doesn't turn green.
get pH in line next.
Get your CYA in next and realize it's going to take about a week for it to all dissolve
If your TA is too high or too low adjust that next Low TA is easy, High TA is a bit more worki Realze that changing the TA will change your pH. If it goes too high when you add baking soda use acid to bring it down, If it goes too low when you lower TA aerrate the water to bring the pH back up. This is covered more fully in the pool school article on lowering TA
Once you get everything else done adjust the calcium because where you put your calcium will depend, in part, on where you put your TA and that depends on what you are using for sanitizitng your water.

Like I said , this is not set in stone but only a general guideline. YMMV!
