Been lurking on this site for at least the last year or so. You all have been a huge help. I've learned a lot. I finally decided to really get with the program and downloaded the Pool School calculator to my phone and ordered a Taylor K-2006 test kit which came today. I have a very green pool right now but hopefully with the help I've received from my lurking and the new test kit, I'll be able to get it fixed.
Here were my first test results.
CYA - 40
FC - 0.5
CC - 1
pH - 7.5
Didnt do any other tests.
Shocked it with 4 gallons of 12.5% liquid chlorine and 2 gallons of 10% liquid chlorine. I'm not sure that's enough but it's all I had.
