Very low pressure on gauge

Hey all, looking for some feedback on an issue I'm having with my pressure gauge. It has been reading around 3 psi ever since I replaced the motor end of my pump (same horsepower, just a generic motor). I knew the filters were old so I thought it might just be them causing it.

I ordered a new guage thinking it might also be bad. I installed new cartridge filters along with the gauge. The new guage is still reading 2-3 psi.

The weird thing is I'm getting very good pressure from the returns and my booster pump/cleaner are working fine.

Any ideas on what's going on?

Assuming it's on the filter housing, have you bled the air out?

Ya, I left the valve open until water started coming out and then closed it

It was in the high teens/low 20's with the old motor and filters. I did use Teflon tape on the threads, that wouldn't mess anything up would it?

Possibly. If the teflon restricts the water from actually entering the gauge by over lapping the orifice, that might do it.
