I live alone and haven't begun to use the pool yet. I bought a TFT kit and began testing April 7, no major problems. I check the pressure guage on my filter regularly and I vacuum regularly, plus I have a kreepy krauly. So far I with my testing I have not detected any combined chlorine. My question is when do I need to shock the pool?

Re: Frequency for schocking

When you have more than .5 ppm CC, when the pool is cloudy, after a heavy rain or heavier than normal use such as a pool party, when you see algae, or after a fecal accident or dead animal in the pool. I think that about covers it. I think I have shocked my pool about 2 times in the past 2 years and my pool is open year round.
