What would a normal PSI gauge reading on a sand filter for a 24ft x 4ft pool whilenot is turned on? Mine is just now getting up to about 5.

when you pump is not on it should read zero and then each filter has a different PSI for a clean filter..

A better indicator is the pressure from the returns... gauges fail easily.

I have never had a gauge fail, the glycerin filled ones are really nice and more robust.

Although you see a lot more pools than me

OMG so much cheap equipment around here. I think I have 4 client's pools that they actually work... If they were paying attention during the off days, I would tell them to replace. but I know they're not
