Hey all, was having some problems with my auto cover and had my local pool company come out to fix it. They said it was a bad motor and charged me just about $1,000 for the motor plus $80 for the labor. This seems extremely high, was hoping for some feedback. Thinking about telling them to take it back. The model motor is Coverstar Ac Gearmotor 016-650-3241 (Possibly Coverstar part#A0610) which I'm not having much luck locating online. Appreciate any help, thanks!

Sounds about right to me. A new system is around $11k. Our replacement cover was $2k for a different vendor replacement. I hope our motor holds out for many more years.
Thanks all! Seemed really steep at first, but apparently that part is just very pricey. Surprised there isn't a generic motor for cheaper. Oh well
