Air in Pipes

I know there is air in the pipes thus what makes the water circulate. My question is though is there such a thing as "too much air" in the pipes. When I first turn the pump on each day, the returns blow "hard" for a few minutes then they return to "normal", but I don't remember the returns ever blowing so much air out when I initially turn the pump on.

Any advice? Thx.

Is the water level in your pump strainer basket dropping when the pump is turned off? It is possible that you have a slight suction side leak somewhere. First place I would check is the o ring on the strainer basket lid.
