Question about cya

My mother in law recently purchased an Intex SWG for her pool. I've been trying to follow the TFP method, as well as encouraging her to as well. My question about the cya is this... TFP recommends 70-80 ppm cya I believe, but the owners manual recommends 30 ppm. Should I just say to heck with the owners manual? What's the reasoning for running cya higher with SWG? I would think it would allow for decreased SWG run time and therefore longer cell life... What's your thoughts?

30-40ppm in normal pool
70-80 in salt pool.

Salt pools can be run at a much lower FC, therefore some added protection prevents falling below minimum FC level. And yes, reduced run time is an advantage.
