Installing Intellichem--why two saddles per canister?

I'm installing an Intellichem with two pumps myself.

Seems straight-forward, but I'm confused by the fact that two saddle fittings are included with each canister. I think I only need one per canister to inject chlorine and acid in the return line after the heater.

But each canister came with two saddle fittings. Is the second just a spare, or am I missing something?

Thanks!

Ok, called Pentair and figured it out.

There's a a top and bottom fitting for each saddle. They are slightly different in size, but both have 1/2 inch female threads.

You only drill through one of the 1/2" holes into the 2" pipe for the injection connection.

So, each pump uses two "halves" of a saddle fitting.

Above is not true (although that's what tech support told me).

You only need one of the two pvc fittions. One is for 2" pipe (which I have) and the other is for a smaller pipe diameter, probably 1.5".

Sorry for spreadin the misinformation.
