Re-orienting Intex 2650 filter 6 way valve to allow proper hard plumbing to pool

I started to put up my 14X42 Ultra Frame pool yesterday, and placed my new 2650 Intex sand filter next to it.
Once thing I noticed is for me to do the straightest plumbing is that I need to rotate the 6-way valve approx. 90 degrees so the output pipe will run straight to the return port in the pool
I can't turn the entire pump 90 degrees because my intake/ input from the skimmer would not be lined up.

So that means now instead of using the short intex hose that connects the pump to the 6-way valve, I need to hard pipe it.
Has anyone done this before? Can I use the same "box adaptor" PVC connection that is used to connect to the pool?
Or did anyone come up with another solution rather than turn the 6 way valve?
