Some equipment questions

Got a new home with a pool. Never thought I would have a pool. Trying to sort it all out. Took off Safety cover last weekend. Trying to figure out if there are any physical/equipment problems beofre I tackle chemicals.

I have some equipment I have no clue what it is. I know you guys can help. Still trying to figure out how exactly vacuuming works so i can get all the gunk of the floor.

1. Perhaps a vacuum of some kind? I can't find a model number on it anywhere so it makes it hard to google it.

2. Perhaps another type of vacuum?

3. What is this outlet in the pool. I found the cover for it? it is not where the water comes in from the auto fill well and it is not a return eye?

4. One of these tubes is a fiber optic light pype lite going to the pool. The other longer tube looks the same but it is attached to nothing. I have no clue what this is? I do't see a second light in the pool. And its not attached to the box in the shed anyway. Very mysterious.

Thanks!

Wow. I remember feeling the same sense of bewilderment when I bought a house with a pool 3 years ago. Your signature has a lot of info in it, so I'm assuming that the stuff in your sig is what is currently the active equipment and the pictures you took are of stuff that is just lying around?
First pic is of a cartridge filter which you won't use if you have a sand filter, second is some sort of pump, don't know what that eyelet is for on the third pic. No clue on the last pic. Others should be more helpful.

Ok cool. Yeah in my sig is what I have figured out. This is "other stuff" :) Yeah a big sand filter is plumbed in so I guess I don't need the cartridge filter. Do people buy things like that on eBay?
