First Time Pool Owner. Gunite pool with copper plumbing needing some guidelines

I have a gunite pool that was built in 1950. It is plumbed with copper. Is there any precautions I should be taking regarding chemicals due to the copper piping?

The only thing that would really cause a problem would be allowing your pH to get too low and pull copper into the water.

Could I use a chlorinator with it?

Define chlorinator. If you mean with tablets, I would not as that puts acidic water through the pipes. Plus we generally do not recommend that use of pucks anyways. If you mean a SWG, that would be no problem.
