Spent the afternoon helping friends install a new pool liner in an inground pool. We were quite far along in the install process when a tear was discovered along the weld seam. This was not an installation fault but obviously a weak point in seam. They have to wait till Monday to contact the company they purchased liner from, but just from anyone's experience/knowledge, is there anything that can be done to repair this or will a replacement be forthcoming? Or should they be weary if company wants them to 'just patch it'? Thanks.

Seam failure (the seam is where 2 sections of liner were heat welded together) is about the only thing the warranty is good for and on a brand new liner it should be 100% covered. A patch would be acceptable while waiting for the replacement liner, but they've gotta replace the liner!

A few years back the company we get our liners from had a new pattern - there was someing wrong with the material or the process of imprinting that pattern which caused every liner we installed with that pattern to fail at the seams :x The company honored the warranty but discontinued the pattern due to the problem, so the owners had to choose a different pattern. :|
