Just installed a new pool a couple weeks ago and yesterday I was dreaming of the weather being warmer so I could actually use the pool and 3 ducks flew in and landed directly in my pool! I chased them off with the skimmer handle and hopefully they don't come back! Any proven methods of Duck deterrents?? Quack...Quack....

All very good ideas! I especially like the cow answer, but I would have to build a ramp for him to get into the pool!!
I chased some off mine last week..visited and pooped twice.. I have also heard that the solar cover is a deterrent. I also have a floating alligator..but they didn't seem to care. I moved it to the pool ledge.
And both days they showed up at about 6am..I have to get up at 5:30am anyhow.. so I have been starting the pump then too..maybe they do not like the moving water?

I read somewhere if you float a blow up alligator in the pool, the ducks will stay away. We put one out last year and this and no ducks as of yet. Now that I've written this, I suppose the pool will be fille with them tomorrow. LOL!
