I was in the process of cleaning my fns60 filter grids when i noticed that the bottom of all the grids where the threading is are mostly gone. I could literally slide the filter mesh off of the skeleton grids. I'm assuming I can't reuse these? Is that correct or is this normal for these to do this? I found it odd that I didn't have any DE or anything else bad in my pool.

After investigating it further, I'm not sure if there was ever any theading on these as they are all opened up at the bottom. The threading on the top of the grids are all fine. It's the bottom of the grids that are opened up. Can I reuse these? The actual grids and mesh are in great shape except for the bottom.
Very strange, never seen that before. The fabric has to be completely sealed. If you can't seal the fabric, you'll need new grids.

Break out the dental floss and a needle.
My brother-in-law has successfully repaired grids by sewing the tears shut and then smearing the offending area with silicon gasket goo. I imagine caulk would work just as well.

If all your other grids are in good shape, just replace that one. Shouldn't be more than 20-30 to replace even from local pool supply.
