2 HP impeller in a 1 1/2 HP wet end

I have a 1 1/2 HP pump and wet end Emmerson pump center discharge (Bad pump and impeller, wet end still good). I got a replacement 2 HP pump and wet end side discharge. Can I reuse the 1 1\2 HP center discharge wet end and the 2 HP impeller on the replacement pump.

So the ending setup would be:

2 HP pump
1 1/2 HP Wet end
2 HP impeller

Will there be an issue with this setup?

When you say pump do you mean motor? I would leave the one and a half horsepower impeller on the two horsepower motor just to save money on electricity.

I'm not a professional, but I thought the impellers were sized for the HP in many of those wet ends?

Most wet-ends are the same for all the motor/impeller sizes; although I think there are a few designs that do have a different diffuser for some of the impeller sizes (I am not sure which ones).

Just need to make sure that the rating of the impeller is less than or equal to the motor SFHP rating.
