All the copper threads reminded me of a funny thing from childhood....

It was around 1982.

Summer, friday night.

My 2 sisters made some story up about going somewhere (i.e. they didn't want me tagging along) shopping
at the mall i think.

They get home at 10pm. Both of them with wet hair and get this, my blonde sister now had light green hair haha.

They maintained the shopping story but I knew they went to the neighbors pool a few blocks up.

Seems like my sister with blonde hair often had it green whenever we went swimming except for the one public
pool that was part of a high school.

Unfortunately, a vast majority of people think that happens due to the chlorine and not that it is really copper in the water.

I remember that as well. Never once heard anyone mention copper.

also the combined chlorine smell being "that chlorine smell" haha.

Similar here. It was around 1979/80. My blonde sister ended up with green hair. The pool store at that time tried to explain it as some weird reaction between chlorine and eating something with garlic the day before, lol.

Her hair was certainly green though!!!

Back then though, not sure there was any good options unless someone was a scientist. Were test kits like we have even sold back then?
