Gauge won't drop to zero

When I turn my pump off, the gauge drops from 25psi to 10 psi.

Should I get a new gauge? I thought the glycol filled one I purchased last season would still be good!

It should. Did you snip the tip off the little black insert on the top of the guage? If not, you might try that and see if it drops it to Zero. It's a pressure equalizer, and doing this might fix it.

Pull open the little doo-dad on the top to equalize the pressure.

If that does not work, unscrew it and see if the pipe stem is clogged

Weirdly I noticed mine was only going down to about 2 PSI. I pulled the black rubber stopper off and the pressure reading actually went up which was not expected. So I shoved the stopper back on and the pressure seemed to go down closer to 0 and I called it good enough
