Hi guys I'm currently remodeling my 20,000 gallon pool. I have 3 return lines in the pool, after doing some trenching today for my sheer descents I found the return the lines. All three returns are being run off of one 1" pool line, the strange part about it is the line is only 1", is this normal? The pool was made in 1987. I was thinking about biting the bullet and installing all new 2" return lines. What would you guys recommend?

Yea, not normal, so somebody took a cheap shortcut. I'd re-do them in 2" if it was me. You might as well while you are there.
Thanks for the response, would you recommend me doing 2" pipe from the pad to the pool and reducing to 1-1/2 at the pool wall for the fittings? I want to install a total of 4 returns in the pool.
I have a 3HP VS intelliflo with two 2" suctions in the pool running off one 2" line. Would you guys recommend me looping the return lines? I don't have access to the other side of the pool (concrete) so I was going to do just a single run.
