Help, we cleaned our pool & now filled it with spring water from a pond. Last year we had water hauled in it cost more than the pool. The pool filled over night 4' x 16' but the water is brown, no iron, could be silt, we did filter the water having water run through tube sock. the water looked clear running & in pail. But 10,000 gal approx looks much different. How to clear the water we have filter & sand filter too. We just the pump this morning Info & help please

Hello and welcome to TFP. Hopefully the brown you see if residual dirt and junk from the pond, but it would be good to know if there is any chance it could be metals - specifically iron. Do you have anywhere like a pool store that can do a free water test for you? If that is iron/metals, the long-term treatment of the pool is much different for someone with no metals - or even last time when you had water hauled in.

Let us know and we'll try to help further. Still, great to have you with us.

Welcome, eh?

Your best bet is to use the search box in the upper right using "lake water" or "pond" and skim through past threads on this topic. I recall one that took several weeks to clear, but I don't remember how long ago nor what the final solution turned out to be.
